Public art that gives places identity and brings communities together
Blank Walls works with councils, local authorities and public realm teams to deliver murals, public art and community-led creative programmes that transform underused spaces and build civic pride.
From town centre regeneration and basketball court murals to heritage trails, festivals and full public art strategies — artist-led, community-focused, and delivered end to end.
public art does more than decorate
The right artwork changes how a place feels — and how the people who live there feel about it.
Councils use murals to:
Regenerate town centres and high streets
Build civic pride and a stronger sense of place
Activate underused or neglected spaces — underpasses, subways, hoardings and blank façades
Engage residents through consultation and storytelling
Deter vandalism and anti-social behaviour
Support tourism and destination appeal
Celebrate local heritage, identity and diversity
Deliver measurable social and cultural value
Done well, public art isn't a finishing touch. It's part of the strategy.
What we can create
Every project is shaped around the place, the community and the story you want to tell.

Community at the centre
Good public art reflects the people who live with it. That only happens when the community has a hand in shaping it.
We build consultation into our process — running workshops where residents share their stories, vote on themes or routes, and help steer the direction of a piece before a wall is ever touched. It's an approach that gives the community genuine ownership of the finished work, and gives you a programme that delivers real social value alongside visual impact.

"I just wanted to write to you all to say a BIG congratulations on delivering an amazing inaugural No More Blank Walls Festival! I was in and around Mt Lawley every other day and got to see pretty much everything in action, from the artists at work, to the gallery, the walking tours, the opening event, and the artists talks. I don’t know if I can say I have ever met such a great bunch of people – you guys, all the artists, and the extended crew. I left the artists talks feeling privileged to hear from such authentic and passionate creative human-beings and feeling that our future is in good hands. I hope you are all getting to enjoy some perspective on what you created and the legacy you have left in and around the town centre, both in people’s memories and in the diverse artworks. I also hope you are getting to recharge after a pretty marathon lead in. Not to mention welcoming new babies and travelling all the way from the UK. I am feeling super proud that the City was able to support you in bringing your vision to life!"

"Working with Blank Walls was an absolute pleasure, and the results speak for themselves. They provided a range of artists for me to choose from based on a brief, the provided project management services on site, organised the boom lift and traffic management and were flexible and pleasant to work with throughout the duration of this project. Thank you for an amazing mural!"
